Updates & Announcements

More Region Band Honors…

On Saturday, several more of our 9th graders made the Region 8 Freshman Band.

Congratulations to Joshua Glanz on Oboe, Leo Abanov on Clarinet, Peyton Faulkner on Trumpet, and Jenson Williams, Caleb Lewis, and Uzair Ali on Trombone! Way to go Freshmen! They will be traveling with the other CSHS Band Students that made the other Region Bands last weekend to Copperas Cove on January 17th and 18th for the TMEA Region 8 Clinic and Concert.

Other Students traveled to Baylor University with Mr. Seale to perform in the TMEA Region 8 Orchestra Clinic and Concert. Kelly Hyun on Flute, Ricky Arellano on Oboe, Abby Perryman on Clarinet, Ben Roberts on Bassoon, Anderson Kurk on Trombone and Casey Hawkins on Percussion performed “Finlandia” and “Entry of the Gladiators” under the Direction of Mr. David Mairs. This was a great opportunity and experience for them.

Band Holiday Concert (December 16th)

The Jazz Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will present our first performance of the Concert Season on Monday, December 16th starting at 6:00PM. Mr. Dixon and I are excited to announce that this year’s attire for the concert will be “Tacky Christmas Sweater” outfits. There might even be a prize for the “Tackiest Sweater.” Certainly have to stay within normal school dress codes. Alternative attire will be semi formal, no ragged jeans, shorts or athletic shoes.
