Updates & Announcements

A) Blinn Marching Festival Results! You had another solid performance in the incredible Texas Heat yesterday. Way to push through adverse conditions and perform so well even with the Sun in your eyes and beating down on you. Our Marching Score (marching technique Judge) was a Superior Rating (800 out of 1000, which translates to an 80 on a 100 point scale), General Effect Score was Superior (also 800 out of 1000, or 80), Music Score was our Highest, another Superior Rating (875, or 87.5). We were Awarded with the “Outstanding 5A Percussion”, “Outstanding 5A Soloist Award” ( Reno ), and 1st Place Overall of the 6 Bands in 5A at this Contest. Congratulations everyone. Also a huge thank you to the Amazing Boomsauce Props Crew and Chaperones for taking care of everyone!

D) CSISD Marching Band Showcase Updates (October 15) – We are losing our Wednesday Morning Rehearsal because of the PSAT test. Since this is also the week of UIL Contest AND we already have Monday off, we will begin Rehearsal at 4PM on Tuesday . We will provide Dinner around 6:30 PM and then change to get ready for the Showcase.

Performances begin at 7:30PM instead of 7 PM as advertised.

E) UIL Regional Marching Contest on Saturday (10/19) at Midway High School. We perform at 2:45PM. UIL Itinerary coming

F) We are in Contest Mode now. Every rehearsal outside of school time is SO important. They always have been, but especially now. We are already about 1 month away from being finished with our large extra time commitment. UIL Area is Saturday, October 26th . If we perform well enough and advance onto UIL State, that will occur on November 3-5 . Please continue to push yourself to improve in the last few days. Boomsauce!!

Special Note about Hydration – Even though it may be getting cooler outside, hydration is still very important for your body to function properly. It is so important to us that you are proactively doing what you can to stay healthy to be able to fully participate as a Member of our Marching Band. Always have your water Jug with you for rehearsals/games/contests.

Procedure for Absences

Students who need to miss a rehearsal need to click on this link and fill out the information, this will help us keep track of the students. Once the form is filled out, it will be put on a calendar the directors can view. There are so many students it is hard to keep track of them all, this will help us a great deal.
