Weekly Director’s Updates
Cougar Band & Guard
this week
Updates and Announcements
Mr. Dixon and I are very pleased with how well the second week of school and rehearsals went. Like I mentioned last week, you are creating a new culture of being proactive and prepared in our Band Program by learning your new sets before you get into the evening Rehearsals. We will finish adding Music to the Sets of the Opener this week and also begin learning Drill for Part 2 (Blackbird/Yesterday).
Our first Band and Guard Booster Meeting for this year is this Tuesday evening at 7PM and will be held via a Zoom meeting. All Parents of Band and Guard Members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Check the weekly Charms email for sign in info.
In Class, we will need Concert Horns on Wednesday for an All State Prep Day. This is NOT a study hall day, but instead we are going to work on the TMEA All State Music.
We also need to take a Full Band Pic for the Football game programs this week. The best day to do that will be at our Thursday Evening Rehearsal , so for this week’s rehearsal we will wear the Purple Cougar Band and Guard T-Shirts, Black Performance Shorts, short black socks, and dark colored athletic or marching shoes. We will be giving out the new years’ shirts and shorts on Monday Night.
Speaking of Football Programs , we need some volunteers to sign up to help sell programs right before our Final Home game December 4th. Here is the direct link to sign up with the
Cougar Club. Sign up Link.
